Two Yale Students Re-Commerce America with YouRenew.com Website Creates a New Marketplace to Renew Electronics by Providing the Fastest, Greenest and Fairest Way to Recycle and Reuse Them
YouRenew.com (http://www.yourenew.com), is a site where people can "go green and get green" by turning old electronic devices into cash.
NEW HAVEN, CT, December 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- TwigTek LLC, is pleased to introduce YouRenew.com, the fastest, greenest and fairest way for consumers to renew their old electronics by selling them for reuse or recycling, and get paid for doing it. YouRenew.com was developed by Rich Littlehale and Bob Casey, two Yale University undergraduate students.
Households from coast to coast are full of functional, yet out-of-date or unwanted electronics destined to collect dust or fill landfills. In 2008, YouRenew.com was created so people can "go green and get green" by turning old electronic devices into cash. These devices are remarketed or responsibly recycled to keep the dangerous chemicals within them, such as lead, cadmium and mercury, out of landfills which prevents them from leaking into our environment and drinking water. To date, YouRenew.com has renewed tens of thousands of electronics.
"We've always wanted to change the world for the better and decided to develop an easy and convenient way to recycle electronics and make a positive impact on the environment," said Rich Littlehale, YouRenew.com co-founder and a finalist in BusinessWeek's 2009 25 U.S. Entrepreneurs Ages 25 and Under. "Too many electronic devices find their way into our trash, our landfills and ultimately harm our environment. E-waste is the fastest-growing stream of waste in the U.S. YouRenew.com provides an efficient alternative to tossing electronics in the trash, and we pay our customers to do just that."
Littlehale was recently honored as a leader in the field when asked by the U.S. Congressional House Subcommittee on Government Management, Organization and Procurement, Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, to speak at a hearing that explored the best practices for life cycle management of IT equipment and electronics.
Since our website went live in March, an increasing number of customers renewed their used electronics through our easy to use website," said Guy Minetti, CEO, YouRenew.com. "We continue to invest in our marketing efforts and our operating platform to accommodate what we forecast to be an explosive growth in 2010 and beyond."
In three easy steps consumers can responsibly get paid to dispose of electronics by visiting YouRenew.com:
