SPMS Releases Innovative 400 Volt DC Power Strip
To aid in energy efficiency, Spectrum Power Management Systems introduces a revolutionary 400 Volt DC power strip design.
STATE COLLEGE, PA July 31, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Spectrum Power Management Systems, a division of Spectrum Control, Inc., is pioneering its way into the 400 Volt DC arena with the 74D-160FRLGN-00 power strip.
This innovative, energy-efficient design allows users to distribute 400 Volts of direct current to up to12 appliances. Additionally, the slim 0U package saves valuable space for other critical devices.
The 74D-160FRLGN-00 is hardwired into the main power infrastructure and provides power via three load banks. Each load bank features four 400 VDC Anderson Power Products receptacles, one 2 pole 20A fuse, and an LED status indicator. Total current is rated at 60 Amps max.
Servers or blades equipped with direct current power supplies, instead of AC power supplies, operate while producing 20-40% less heat, reduce power consumption by up to 30%, increase the overall reliability, and greatly reduce the need for system maintenance. System efficiency gained by the user of DC power versus AC power is approximately 28%!
